Short but Sweet!

I think you all might get bored with my post. Cause i keep uploading my instruments pics. Today i going to introduce my cute little buddy, my piccolo. This piccolo looks like a wood and sound like a wood but yet, it's made from a material called **Grenaditte. I think this name most properly came from a type of wood that people used it to built wooden instrument commonly, the *Grenadilla.
*Grenadilla (or other, similar spellings) is a name given to a number of different woods, all of them strong and dense. A famous wood so named is that of Dalbergia melanoxylon, in English African blackwood and in East Africa known as mpingo). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grenadilla

**Grenaditte is a new material which has similar characteristics of density, color and acoustic properties to Grenadilla wood. It is impervious to all temperature changes. Its outstanding characteristics include its lightness and hardness. Great for band programs that require outdoor performances in all types
of weather. http://www.flute.com.tw/en/faq/index.php
This material developed by Guo Musical Instruments Co. (G.M.I.C.) which formed by Geoffrey F. Guo. They involved themselve in flute making, their flute gets very good feedbacks from worldwide. I owned a Grenaditte Flute Headjoint too, that made by this Taiwan company.
Here is the pics from my piccolo and the headjoint:

THE MAGIC FLUTE

FU-YOOH!!!

Mr. Vincent get his new flute!!! Yes, indeed. I finally bought my new flute from the hand of Sean. Its a solid sliver flute made by Powell company from Boston, U.S.A. This story begun from few weeks ago. I told my mummy that i in need to upgrade to a better flute, and my previous flute are "not-pretty-well-function" already. Well, I'm so honest and i explain why i want this flute so much. Finally, mummy agree with me and let me go for it.

the beautiful G sharp key

As you can see from this poster, this flute is a semi-handmade model. Powell company is very well known with the wide, open, juicy, thick sound. The workmanship are superb and the materials are chosen carefully by the maker. Many world class artist had chosen Powell to play with and leave many wonderful comments. People praise Powell and love it.
"The refinement of sound and the overall quality in the Signature flute make this an ideal instrument for those seeking a more professional approach to their performance."

My lovely flute is a Solid Silver Powell Flute and a Sterling Silver Signature style headjoint (.016”) with a Dyna Flute System. It's a well made flute with a sweet voice and a strong resonance. I enjoyed playing it very much and make me wanted to practice everyday.

Day 3 in Singapore ~ FINALE

26th July 2008

YEAH! I manage to survive for 3 days in Singapore! I feel proud of myself!!! come! give me a BIG APPLAUSE! BRAVO!!

muahahahahaha........... ............... ................
Today i wake up earlier because i gonna get things pack and be sure i won't leave anythings here. If not, those things will be adopted by ah gor and become his propertise! (LOL...i know he won't do that!) Ah gor wake up early too, cause he promised me will accompany me to Novena. After i tidy up myself, ah gor make me a light breaky, bread and a cup of nice coffee. Well ah gor actually want to spread the kayang on the bread, BUT already went mouldy jor! YUICKS!

Luckily i didn't makan! If not later masuk hospital can't balik Malaysia!

We took MRT as usual and we arrive Novena in 20 mins time. In the journey, we talked about Ms. Beh and Ms. Audrey (a.k.a Carmen). It's alot of fun that gossip about people that we commonly know. And he describe Ms.Beh as "BIMBO".
muahahahahaha.......... ................ ................

yeah, yeah...we walked around the mall and i went to check in my ticket at the counter. Later on, i bought an Adidas perfume at a sports shop. The reason i bought this because it smells just like a DKNY RED DELICIOUS for men. My ADIDAS DEEP ENERGY cost me 12$ SGD, i'm very sure it was like 10 times cheaper then the DKNY and i have same amount too, which is 100ml e 3.4 fl oz. So as you can see, i'm a wise buyer! have a look of the perfume!

Ok, now come back to the journey. I buy ah gor a coffee in Ah Mei Cafe, because he adopted me for few days so I won't be a orphan. I bought a set of Nasi Beriani (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biryani) with ikan, taste sucks! So never ever buy Malay foods in Singapore! oklah...i have to go liao....
I took a pic with ah gor before i leave, MUACKS! THANKS A LOT!

and here is a little insect? or may i call it a butterfly? that accompany beside me while i'm waiting

Day 2 in Singapore

25th July 2008
Ah gor said he is a very light sleep person, so actually i don't really sleep well. (hehe...) Before i get on bed, i took few pics of his room. I get his permission to upload this pics, so no privacy abuse involved here.

Yes, another morning in Singapore. The air still taste fresh, and the weather is good but little cloudy thou. I wake up and brush my teeth, i shower myself, dress myself with a blue shirt and pair with a jeans. I log into the web and check my mails as usual while ah gor doing his stuff, preparing to work. Ah gor dressed just like a stuff that work in British India...LOL...thats how he describe himself. I didn't get the chance to makan my breaky because i don't have things to makan, so i just take my time to drink my apple juice that i bought from 'Mustafar' last night. (although ah gor said he had foods in the drawer, but i didn't go and makan)

I text up CH Chan to arrange a time to take lunch with him. The time is confirm after a few msg, we decide to meet up at Bishan station around 1pm. Arghhhhh.... another long wait.....

after few hours . . . . . .

I'm starving ler, very hungry now! Still gonna travel alone to Bishan... AND I'M LOST ONCE AGAIN!!! I forgot the direction to get to the Lavender MRT station, i spent almost half an hour around there to search for it and it's going to rain! Luckily my beloved ah gor gave me an umbrella before he go for work...aih....stupid me eh?

Finally with all those "obstacles", i get myself to Bishan safely. HOORAY!! But Mr. CH are late, so i gonna wait again! I wait, wait and wait, finally i wait also. I think my hand are sugaring and i really need some food to cure my hunger! I bought some bread at Bread Talk and makan.

Soon, uncle CH arrived. I angry him because he was late, LOL and he say he will buy me lunch! (muahahahaha...) We spend our lunch time at a Thai food restaurant, I ordered a seafood green curry and he chosen the seafood yellow curry. YUMMY! the foods are great, but what a shame that i didn't take pics of the foods. The time we get finish the foods, it just only 2pm something. So i follow CH to shop around the complex, because he want to get a recorder during the sales.
(blah blah blah...he bought the recorder with 400+$ SGD)

After this and that, i travel down to Aljunied again because I have an appointment with Sean Tan at WindWorks. I prepare myself today to try my beautiful flute again! Things went well today and i have very good encouter with this new "buddy". Special thanks to Sean that he help me adjust the flute over and over again with his wonderful skills. And I asked Sean to help me boost up my flute with the Dyna Flute System (http://www.dynaflutesystem.com/) that will cost me 179$ SGD. But it's really worth, and almost 3 times cheaper then the Bigio Zirconium Stopper (http://www.bigio.com/stoppersandcrowns.html) that my teacher used on his gold flute. I took few pics in WindWorks during the flute test session:

Day 1 in Singapore

24th July 2008
I wake up earlier than usual this morning, maybe i m too excited for the journey? I took a shower and pack all my things, check my bus tickets and passport...here i come, Singapore!

this is the bus tickets that i bought from First Coach

Before i get into the bus, i went to the 7-eleven just next to the First Coach company to buy a chocolate milk and have my mobile talkup. Make sure you have enough credits to survive in foreign country, if not you will put yourself in troubles. The journey took about 5 hours from Bangsar to Novena, Singapore. Luckily i occupied myself with my MP3 and few manga that i borrowed from my cousin. It's a freaking cool local manga that contains story line based on our daily life, so-called "PING TON COMIC". You can pay your visit by clicking this link to the author's blog: http://www.walaua.com/ .

after 5 hours . . . . . .

Finally!!!!!!!!! I make it! I arrived Singapore safe and sounds! This is the second time that i visit Singapore, so it's not a big deal to travel alone. I arrange to meet up my friends which is now studying at NUS (National University of Singapore), but i gonna wait 2 hours more! geeee.....what to do? I still not that familiar with this country, so i decide to take a sit in the "Donut Factory" that just beside the place that the bus drop me. I bought a donut set that come with 2 donuts and 1 coffee. I pick the "Spicy Cheese" and "Rocky Road" with a cup of Cappuccino. The "Spicy Cheese' taste like pizza without the vege and meat and "Rocky Road" is just a donut with sugar and chocolate chips topping.

Sze Ting and Teng Aik meet up with me around 5.40pm and they bought me to Aljunied station to visit Sean Tan and his studio, WindWorks. I bought an EZ-Link before i jump in the MRT commuter with 25$ SD, make a switch at the City Hall station and then i arrived at Aljunied. I pass my teacher's flute to Sean Tan and have a test with my new Powell Signature Flute. At first i really exhausted, because i can't play the flute! Major problems from the swift from offset-G to inline-G and the headjoint cutting really different. I spent 2 hours there and i really appreciate that i have 2 wonderful friends that willing to spend their time with me by just waiting and listen me try out the flute.

Things turns out not that smooth today. The more i try the more i pissed. So i decided to leave the place and go catch up with my god-brother, Isaac, which give me accommodation. He bought me back to his place first to put my luggage then proceed to a place to makan. We stopped by a food court just around ah gor place, it's a typical Chinese food court just like what we had in Malaysia. I asked ah gor recommend me something nice to eat, but he said Sg's food normally are sucks....(oppsy). I ordered my Prawn Noodles and ah gor had his Fish & Chips, we chit chat awhile after that and he bought me to 'Mustafar'. Well, all i can say is, it just like Brickfields in KL lor. 'Mustafar' is actually a very big shopping mall that owned by an Indian guy, things are very cheap there but the quality is not bad at all. I bought a bottle of apple juice and a bucket of blueberry yogurt. I'm a environment friendly person, eh...so i asked the cashier i don't need the plastic bag. She was like shocked, LOL, why this fellow use bare hands to carry? Well, ah gor said i looks little stupid also, but NVM lah. save the earth!!!!!! Nothing much happen next, we walk back to his apartment at Hamilton Road. I took a shower before i get to bed. MUACKS! good night!

THE GOLDEN FLUTE

I' m sure that many of you don't know i just came back from Singapore. I went for a shopping trip alone, for 3 days and 2 nights. It's not a normal shopping trip, i don't shop clothes or shoes, but i when to buy my new flute! (muahahahahahhaha....) Finally, a long wait, it's worth to wait so long to get a great flute! Well, of cause, I'm not going to purchase a gold one. It's so EXPENSIVE and it almost have the equal price as a good car, i list down few common car that have the equivalent value as the flute:

FORD Laser Lynx 1.3GLi Sedan 16V
FIAT Punto 1.4GT Turbo (I)
DAIHATSU Feroza Voyager
CITROEN ZX 2.0i

A big investment eh? And my teacher is one of the owner of the gold flute. He owned a 14k Gold Muramatsu Flute with Silver Keys and a Lafin 14k Gold Headjoint with Adler wings with a Bigio Zirconium Stopper. It's a master piece, a excellent combination. People think we are crazy eh? Why we spend so much of monies on a "stick"? Well, a good flute can refer as a professional football team, like M.U. And a bad flute just like an armature Malaysia football team. (no offended...MALAYSIA BOLEH!!)

I got the chance to play few phrases on this flute because i have to bring it with me to Singapore for some adjustment and services. This flute very easy to play and very resonance, you can feel the air flow below your finger while you playing. The lower register are so fat and juicy, the register changes are flawless.
GOSH...i just love this flute!!!!!

I uploaded some pics of the GOLDEN FLUTE,
and i wish you all will impress by this wonderful flute just like me.

TOASTED TWISTER .vs. SPICY CHICKEN WRAP

Hey guys! McD. recently promote a value single item, you can save up some money instead of buying a whole set of one of the value meal. And you will notice there is a item on the top of the board which stated as "NEW", which is the "Spicy Chicken Wrap". I tried this thingy before, but not really impress for it. But one thing for sure, it's really "SPICY". Soon, KFC come out with a item called "Toasted Twister", for me I think it's just a refined version of "Twister". (people from 80's like me will know...sigh...I'm getting older)

So, i decided to do a compare chart of both. This idea came across my mind because of it's similar idea: a roti with a daging ayam inside...LOL

Here you go:

THE PACKAGING

Design : $ $ $ $ Design : $ $
Practical : $ $ $ Practical : $ $

The one on the left is from "The Fingers Licking Good" and the one on the right is from "I'm Loving It". The rates are all rated out of 5 $. As you can notice, that "Toasted Twister" is far more decorative then the "Spicy Chicken Wrap". The colours are so "seducing" compare with the other, and it's well sealed with a sticker that labeled "Cheesy BBQ Toasted *Tortilla". This design helps to keep the food in shape if you would like to make a take away order and bring it home. Unfortunately, they make a big mistake that they didn't realize it's very hard for customers to eat the food because it just hold by a paper but not a pocket or what. It's a different thing compare with the burger, it's long but not round. Go buy either one of them and you will know what i mean.

*a tortilla is a type of thin, unleavened flat bread, made from finely ground maize (corn) or wheat flour.
for more information please click this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortilla

THE TASTE

Sauce : $ $ $ $ Sauce : $
Vege : $ $ $ Vege : $
Chicken : $ $ $ $ Chicken : $ $ $
Tortilla : $ $ $ $ Tortilla : $ $

The food made from 4 main ingrediants : sauce, vege, chicken and the tortilla.
It's very obvious that, personally i prefer the "Fingers Licking Good". The sauce are the combination of thousand-island and mayo, vege are juicy and you can taste the tomato also. In the other side, the sauce are just plain mayo and the vege like telling me "I'm dying". The chicken is the main factor to determine the good or bad, KFC used "100% whole chicken" but in the other hand McD used chicken's nugget. Visually, whole chicken looks nicer, but it's very subjective. You may love the spicy-ness of the chicken's nugget too. Finally, come to the tortilla which sealed everything inside. The tortilla from KFC are superb, you can smell it, it contain very rich butter and smells similar to Roti Canai. Maybe McD go for a different concept? Their tortilla are generally plain and dry.
The conclusion is:

* "Toasted Twister" is one of the main course in the list but for "Spicy Chicken Wrap" i rather call it a snack.

* I paid RM6+ to get a Twister and RM4+ for the Chicken Wrap. It can be tells by looking the price which one taste better.

BUT FOR MALAYSIAN LIKE ME

FINALLY!

First of all, I have to say thank you to my brain and my hands. They are now willing to co-operate together and allow me to start blogging. Oh my goodness, I can't believe that I start to compose my very own post in my blog. Well, it had been awhile i really want to own a blog. (yeah...it was like few decades ago since i get my Internet access in my computer). I love to read others blog and enjoy a lot things happen on them everyday. And with my little knowledge of English grammar, it can't even impress myself. So i give up to start blogging. (blahblahblah....)

There are so many things happen nowadays, in my house, my studies, people around me and my country. I'm not a person that really into those politics, and i seldom read newspaper as well. But after the recent election, i start to be more concern about the government and resident's policy.

Nowadays the security around my area are fucking bad! Peoples get roped here and there, those S.O.B brake into my neighbour's house, and they steal cars too. HELLO??!!!!!

Whats the hell happening out there? What those "Polis yang amat dihormati" doing? And unfortunately my bro get roped as well, JUST RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE!

I CAN'T TAHAN ALREADY!

By here, I want to pay my full respect to "Namewee". You sing out my thought! SALUTE! You are my hero! You are my idol!
